  • Call for Papers: The 24th Annual Academic Conference of the Systems Engineering Society of China

    To all branches, institutional members, and individual members:

    The 24th Annual Academic Conference of the Systems Engineering Society of China (SESC) will be held in Tianjin from October 24–25, 2026, hosted by Tianjin University. The theme of this year’s conference is "Knowledge System of Systems Engineering with Chinese Characteristics." Since its inception in 1980, this biennial conference has grown into a major academic event. The details for the Call for Papers (CFP) are as follows:

    I. Submission, Review, and Acceptance
    Submissions are categorized into Abstracts and Full Papers. Full papers will be recommended to journals sponsored by the Society (or related systems science journals) via a "Fast Track" review process. All submissions must be made through the online system; only accepted and registered papers will be included in the conference program.

    Online Submission: Please visit sesc2026.casconf.cn. For full papers, authors must select their preferred journals and topics. For general abstracts, authors select the relevant topics. Submissions to parallel sessions or special forums organized by SESC branches or experts are treated as abstract submissions.

    Review Process: The Conference Academic Committee will review all full papers and general abstracts. Parallel sessions or special forum submissions will be reviewed by their respective organizers. Official acceptance notices will be sent via the conference platform.

    Recommended Journals: Participating journals include Systems Engineering — Theory & Practice, Journal of Systems Engineering, Journal of Transport Systems Engineering and Information Technology, Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering (English), and Journal of Systems Science and Information (English). Other partners include Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics (Chinese & English), Journal of Systems Science and Mathematical Sciences, Journal of Systems & Management, and Military Systems Engineering.

    Note: Authors of recommended papers must register for the conference and comply with all journal-specific requirements. Final journal acceptance is independent of conference acceptance.

    II. Scope of Topics
    Systems science theories and methodologies.

    Systems engineering theories and methodologies.

    Applied and fundamental research of systems science/engineering in society, economy, finance, engineering technology, manufacturing, military, energy, health, education, transportation, and industrial development.

    Development and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in systems engineering.

    Innovative research in other fields related to systems science and engineering.

    III. Important Notes
    Authorship: The list and order of authors must remain consistent with the initial submission. All authors must be informed prior to submission. Content and references must be authentic. The conference strictly adheres to the Code of Academic Publishing Ethics for National Societies of CAST. Fraudulent citations will result in disqualification from journal recommendation.

    Notification: Results can be checked in the submission system. Registration details for accepted papers will be sent to the corresponding author via email.

    Unsuccessful submissions will not be notified individually.

    IV. Important Dates (2026)
    June 30: Deadline for the 1st round of full paper submissions (for journal recommendation).

    July 20: Notification of acceptance for the 1st round of journal recommendations.

    August 10: Deadline for conference registration/payment for recommended papers.

    August 20: Deadline for final submission to recommended journals.

    July 30: Opening of the 2nd round for abstract submissions.

    September 15: Deadline for 2nd round abstracts and parallel session recommendations.

    September 20: Notification of acceptance for the 2nd round of abstracts.

    September 30: Registration and payment deadline for at least one author per accepted paper.
    (Note: Only registered and paid papers will be included in the program booklet.)
