Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Use Statement
1. Scope and Purpose
This statement clarifies the acceptable use of generative artificial intelligence tools, such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, in academic research, writing, and publication. It aims to uphold academic integrity, transparency, and accountability.
2. Prohibited Practices
AI must not be listed as an author, as it does not possess the academic responsibility or legal capacity required for authorship.
Data must not be fabricated or manipulated. AI must not be used to generate, modify, or manipulate research data, images, figures, charts, or results.
Undisclosed use is prohibited. Any use of AI that is not clearly disclosed in the manuscript will be regarded as academic misconduct.
3. Author Responsibilities and AI Use Disclosure Requirements
Authors bear full academic responsibility for all manuscript content, including any AI-generated portions.
Authors must verify the authenticity of all cited references, as AI may generate fictitious references.
Authors must ensure that no copyright or intellectual property rights are infringed.
If authors use GenAI during the research or manuscript preparation process, they must disclose such use upon submission and include a formal statement in the main text.
4. Guidelines for AI Use in Peer Review
During the peer review process, if reviewers or editors intend to use GenAI to assist with the review, they must ensure that such use is transparent and consistent with academic standards.
Reviewers and editors should provide a detailed record of GenAI use in their review comments, including the name of the tool used, its functional module, and its specific application in the review process.
Any GenAI-generated auxiliary content must be fact-checked and critically assessed to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
This statement shall take effect from the date of publication and shall be interpreted by the Editorial Office of the Journal of Systems & Management.
