The report calculated and analyzed the reading index, download index, and popularity index for 59 management journals. After sorting by the popularity index, the top 10%—six management journals—were awarded as the Most Popular Journals. The comprehensive academic journal "Journal of Systems Management," supervised by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, stood out among the 59 journals and was honored as the Most Popular Journal in Management Science for the year 2024.
The Journal of Systems Management, as the official publication of the Society of Management Science and Engineering, is recognized as an A-level important journal in management science by the Management Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It is also listed among the FMS high-quality journals in management science, included in the CSSCI Expanded Edition, the China Science Citation Database (CSCD), and the Comprehensive Evaluation Core Journals of Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences (AMI). Additionally, it is one of the "50 Most Influential Chinese Business and Management Journals" evaluated by AMBA and Cabells and was selected in 2021 as part of the first batch of 26 journals in the "China Case Study Journal Alliance."
In recent years, the journal has made significant achievements in academic research and journal development. By organizing various workshops, the journal has focused on key areas such as digital transformation, energy security, and regional coordinated development to conduct strategic and forward-looking academic discussions, thereby effectively serving national strategic needs. The journal also places a high emphasis on the growth of young scholars, offering them platforms for face-to-face exchanges with industry experts and inviting senior experts to provide reviews and guidance on their papers to support their academic growth.
The journal actively responds to the academic call for "changing the writing style" and "establishing new practices" by setting up columns for industry research and case studies. It encourages scholars to root their research in China's practical context, addressing real issues with genuine data, and cultivating authentic scholarship, thus fostering a rigorous and pragmatic academic atmosphere.
Moving forward, The Journal of Systems Management will continue to uphold the concept of high-quality development, consistently enhancing its editorial standards to contribute to the close integration of academic research with national strategic needs.
